Janessa E. Koenig

Janessa applies her substantial experience in creditor's rights to assist clients in collecting what is owed to them. She employs all forms of legal remedies including civil lawsuits, judgments, workout strategies, replevins and foreclosures, and she represents her creditor clients in bankruptcy courts. Janessa represents various lending clients including banks, credit unions, equipment suppliers and private lenders, and she brings and defends claims in numerous commercial and bankruptcy litigation actions.
Janessa has handled thousands of matters for her creditor clients resulting in monetary compensation, recovery of the creditor’s collateral and workouts that are viable for both the creditor and debtor. Janessa’s expertise in collections, creditor’s rights and bankruptcy provide her clients with a broad base of creditor’s rights knowledge along with practical and feasible solutions. In today’s economic climate, Janessa’s legal skills have assisted many of our lender / creditor clients.
While in law school in the 90’s, Janessa was a Note and Comment Editor for the Arizona State University Law Journal and a writing instructor for the Legal Writing and Method Program. Her article, “A More Active Jury: Has Arizona Set the Standard for Reform with Its New Jury Rules?” was published in the Arizona State University Law Journal. As an undergraduate, she won the Margaret Faust Award for the most outstanding senior thesis in Psychology for her thesis entitled “Gender and Sex Role Violations: Are They Biasing Judgments in our Courtrooms?”
Janessa belongs to the State Bar of Arizona, is a member of the State Bar’s Bankruptcy Section, and is a member of the Arizona Bankruptcy American Inn of Court. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Sojourner Center, which operated the largest domestic violence shelter in Maricopa County. Janessa continues to support this and other charitable organizations.
